We’re currently looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Technologist to join our Mechanical Engineering team in our Calgary studio. Working primarily in Autodesk Revit, collaborate with engineers, architects and project managers to develop accurate, coordinated, and code-compliant drawing sets for construction.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality Revit models for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial and institutional buildings. Produce accurate mechanical drawings directly from Revit models
  • Prepare contract and tender documentation from Revit models, including drawings and specifications required for approvals, development, and construction cost estimates
  • Assist with HVAC load calculations, duct sizing, hydronic pipe sizing, plumbing fixture unit calculations for various types of buildings
  • Perform model coordination and clash detection using Revit and Navisworks and or Revitzo, and work with architectural, electrical, and structural teams to resolve conflicts.
  • Work with project team members to ensure model quality, coordination, schedules, and QA/QC standards are achieved and maintained
  • Carry out Revit-based technical assignments of moderate to high complexity, with guidance from senior staff as required
  • Participate in all project phases, from schematic design through construction and as-built documentation
  • Involvement in construction phase delivery including field reviews, shop drawing reviews, and other contract administration tasks
  • Maintain Revit standards, families, parameters, worksets, and schedules
  • Review Revit models and drawings for accuracy, coordination, and compliance with engineering practices and standards
  • Who you are:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Technology) or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Experience in AEC, drafting and design work of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems for commercial and institutional buildings
  • Knowledge of building and mechanical codes and standards
  • Knowledge of Architectural, Structural, Electrical and Civil discipline requirements
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit MEP and Autodesk Navisworks
