SUMMARY

Q2 is seeking an ambitious and adaptableSoftware Developerwith strong hands-on experience in team-based development and data-driven systems. In this role, you will actively contribute to the design, development, implementation, and support of custom software solutions across the Q2 platform. You will work acrossfront-end, back-end, and data-centric components, integrating with internal systems, external services, and intelligent automation solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise inmodern software engineering, data pipelines, and AI/ML-enabled solutions, while collaborating closely with peers in a fast-paced, Agile environment to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, integrate, and test software solutions of moderate complexity across the Q2 platform.
• Develop and maintain bothbackend services and data processing workflows, including ETL pipelines.
• Deliver reliable solutions inlive production systems, working both independently and collaboratively.
• Support and maintain custom features, includingdebugging, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis, with occasional on-call availability.
• Apply strong debugging skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and data issues.
• Ensure adherence tosecurity, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies.
• Contribute todata analysis and model-driven features, including exploratory data analysis (EDA) and ML integration.
• Collaborate onAI-powered and agent-based solutions, leveraging modern LLM frameworks and tooling.
• Assist and mentor teammates by sharing best practices, conducting code reviews, and providing technical guidance.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency inPython and SQL.
• Solid experience inweb/tool developmentand backend service development.
• Strongdebugging and troubleshooting skills
• Familiarity withLarge Language Models (LLMs)and modern AI workflows.
• Understanding of thefull software development life cycle (SDLC)andservice-oriented/microservices architectures.
• Experience working in anAgile/Scrum development environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Occasional availability for on-call/emergency support; ability to work flexible

Additional / Preferred Skills

• ETL fundamentalsand experience building or maintaining data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience withPython ML and data libraries, including:

  • XGBoost
• Experience performingExploratory Data Analysis (EDA)to derive insights and support data-driven features.
• Working knowledge ofMachine Learning conceptsand model lifecycle integration.
• Exposure to or experience withAgentic AI architectures,MCP tools, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Understanding of secure, scalable, and production-ready AI/ML system design.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; 2+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree without experience). • Proficiency in Python and SQL; web development experience. • Knowledge of full software development life cycle and service-oriented architecture. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Experience contributing in an Agile development environment. • Occasional availability for on-call/emergency support; ability to work flexible
