Intern Architect/ Registered Architect (Intermediate Level)

We are a small dynamic architectural practice located in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, B.C. Our projects emphasis a regional identity and sustainable design. We undertake a wide variety of project types and sizes, primarily within the mid Vancouver Island region.

We are seeking a broadly experienced, skilled individual with a strong design capability to assist in project design, construction drawings, and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Strong design thinker.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work positively and effectively with project teams, clients, contractors, and authorities.

• Expected to be self directed, attention to detail, thorough, consistent, and capable of working to deadlines.

• Excellent graphic skills and 3D visualization tools such as Sketch Up, Photoshop/ In Design.

• Excellent cadd capability (Vectorworks Architect an asset).

• Knowledge of the BC Building Code, municipal bylaws, and environmental regulations/ standards.

• Knowledge of building science, local construction technology, and west coast building envelope principles.

• Knowledge of green building design, sustainable development, LEED, and Passive Haus.

• Be self motivated to continual learning and be registered or eligible to be registered with the AIBC.

• Minimum 3 years post graduate work experience.
