Position Overview
The Interventionist provides targeted academic and behavioral support to students through Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, assists classroom teachers, and contributes to the overall success of our school community.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Intervention

  • Prepare for and teach Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention groups based on student data, using appropriate programs.
  • Submit lesson plans on time.
  • Assist teachers in classrooms with behavior management, student engagement, and supporting struggling learners.
  • Administer and/or proctor benchmark and state assessments.
  • Fill in for absent teachers and/or other interventionists as needed.

Student Support & Behavior Management

  • Write behavior referrals when necessary.
  • Respect quiet spaces and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Communicate with the office and other staff throughout the day regarding student needs.

Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Attend and actively participate in professional development (PD) sessions; complete all assignments.
  • Attend mandatory training, meetings, and afterschool activities.
  • Attend “Meet the Teacher” events with your grade level team.
  • Plan and attend parent-teacher conferences at least once a year.

Administrative & School Duties

  • Manage classroom data binders.
  • Maintain hall bulletin boards monthly for your grade level and an additional month for the community bulletin board.
  • Perform before school, after school, and lunchroom duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to benefit the school and scholars.

Professionalism

  • Maintain professionalism in dress, speech, and actions.
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Qualifications

  • High School or Bachelors Degree
