Inventory Control Specialist

About the Role

The Inventory Control Specialist owns the accuracy of inventory across the full production cycle, from raw materials to finished goods. You'll document inventory procedures, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and serve as the go-to expert for inventory control activities and audits. You'll work closely with Finance, Production Planning, Purchasing, Product Managers, and the Warehouse team to keep inventory data reliable and audit-ready.

What You'll Do

• Maintain the perpetual inventory system, including cycle counting and variance analysis.
• Document and maintain inventory movement procedures.
• Create job orders and post material transactions, inventory transfers, and scrap tickets in SyteLine.
• Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, including month-end audits with Cost Accounting.
• Review inventory transactions for accuracy and properly code discrepancies charged to cost of sales.
• Manage the monthly expired inventory report to minimize excess scrap of finished goods, WIP, and raw materials.
• Review and respond to nonconforming material reports.
• Maintain off-site inventories in SyteLine and follow up with vendors on accuracy.
• Support discontinued- and new-product checklist activities.
• Comply with departmental, FDA, and ISO safety and quality guidelines.
• Serve as the point of expertise for inventory control activities and audits.

What You'll Bring

• Associate degree in business or a related discipline (equivalent experience considered).
• Prior inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong organization, dependability, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Comfort with general arithmetic and working in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS).

Physical Requirements

This role involves light physical work, including standing for up to two and a half hours at a time, along with walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, and stooping as needed to perform inventory duties.
