Inventory Controller

Purpose of the Role

The primary responsibility of this role is the management and administration of consignment stock warehouses in South Africa, specifically stock held by agents linked to the sole distributor. The role ensures accurate stock records, regular reconciliations, timely reporting, and strong control over stock movements within consignment depots.

Key Responsibilities

Consignment Stock Administration

• Maintain accurate stock records for all consignment warehouses.
• Ensure all stock movements are captured accurately and timeously.
• Reconcile physical stock balances to system balances regularly.
• Monitor stock levels and identify discrepancies promptly.

Agent & Depot Coordination

• Liaise with consignment agents regarding stock balances and stock movements.
• Ensure supporting documentation is received for all stock transactions.
• Follow up on outstanding stock variances and unresolved discrepancies.

Reporting & Reconciliations

• Prepare regular consignment stock reports.
• Assist with monthly stock reconciliations and variance investigations.
• Maintain proper filing and audit trail documentation.

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with company stock procedures.
• Assist in implementing stronger controls within consignment warehouses.
• Participate in periodic stock counts and audits.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in administration, logistics, accounting, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in stock administration or warehouse control.
• Strong attention to detail and reconciliation ability.
• Good Excel and ERP system skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow up proactively.
