Investor Claims

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an experienced Investor Claims Processing Specialist to manage end-to-end mortgage investor claim activities, including FHA/CWCOT, VA, GSE, LMPC/Modification, and Supplemental Claims. The role involves reviewing loan and foreclosure documentation, preparing and submitting accurate claims, validating claim calculations, responding to investor requests, resolving discrepancies, and supporting appeals/reconsiderations.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of mortgage servicing, investor guidelines, foreclosure processes, claim calculations, and post-foreclosure requirements, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet stringent quality and productivity targets.

• Process and review investor claims in accordance with applicable FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and other investor guidelines.
• Perform end-to-end processing of:
• • FHA / CWCOT Claims
  • VA Claims and Appeals
  • GSE Claims Processing
  • LMPC / Modification Claims
  • Supplemental Claims
• Review loan-level documentation, servicing history, foreclosure records, property information, expenses, and payment history to determine claim eligibility.
• Calculate claim amounts, allowable expenses, debits/credits, interest, advances, and other applicable components.
• Validate claim data against servicing systems and supporting documentation before submission.
• Prepare and submit claims within prescribed investor and regulatory timelines.
• Research and resolveclaim denials, adjustments, exceptions, and discrepancies.
• Handle claim appeals, reconsiderations, and supplemental submissions, including preparation of supporting documentation.
• Review investor feedback and ensure required corrections are completed accurately and within SLA.
• Identify unsupported, duplicate, or potentially non-recoverable expenses and take appropriate corrective action.
• Coordinate with internal teams such asForeclosure, Bankruptcy, Property Preservation, Loss Mitigation, Accounting, and Servicing Operations to obtain missing information and resolve claim issues.
• Maintain accurate claim records, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
• Monitor claim aging, pending items, denials, recoveries, and outstanding investor requirements.
• Ensure compliance with investor guidelines, internal policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality-control reviews and assist with root-cause analysis for claim defects.
• Support process improvement initiatives to improve claim accuracy, recovery, turnaround time, and overall operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience:

·2–5+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, investor claims, foreclosure, loss mitigation, or related mortgage operations.

·Strong understanding of the US mortgage servicing lifecycle and foreclosure process.

·Knowledge of investor claim requirements, allowable/non-allowable expenses, documentation requirements, and claim timelines.

·Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to validate claim calculations.

·Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

·Ability to research investor guidelines and interpret requirements accurately.

·Good written and verbal communication skills.

·Ability to work independently while meeting productivity, quality, and turnaround-time targets.

·Proficiency in MS Excel and other standard office applications.
