Position Goals & Objectives
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
- To establish and support a minimum, baseline hardware and software.
- Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network
- Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use
- Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports
- Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, OC Connectivity, printers, Firewall, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software
- Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on
- Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems
- Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
- Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
- Assess, approve, and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
- Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all infrastructure hardware, software, and peripheral devices
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking certifications preferred.
- 10+ years of enterprise network infrastructure experience supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and network security environments.
- 8+ years of experience leading and developing network operations or infrastructure teams.
- Strong expertise in Cisco and Juniper technologies, routing, switching, wireless, VoIP, and firewall solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Experience troubleshooting complex network, security, and performance issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of data center, SAN, and telecommunications technologies.
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards, including SOX, PCI-DSS, and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer focus and proven ability to work collaboratively across teams
