Janitorial Associate Job Description

The Janitorial Associate is an important part of the team and ensures that everyone enjoys a clean and hygienic work environment. They will be part of the Dock & Conversion Department. This is a part-time position. This position is needed 4- days a week for approximately 4- hours each day. Specific days and times are flexible, as long as they fall within standard business hours (7am-4:30pm) and are approved by HR upon hire.

Responsibilities:

• General cleaning and maintenance of the offices, restrooms, and showroom including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Clean, sanitize and stock bathrooms daily; monitor the cleanliness of bathrooms throughout assigned shift.
• Ensure cleanliness of windows, floors, and counters; clean and sanitize fixtures, handrails, doorknobs, etc.
• Keep cleaning supplies in stock; notify the manager of items that need to be reordered.
• Collect and dispose of trash; ensure trash is taken out to dumpsters.
• Communicate with department managers regarding issues outside normal responsibilities.
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• At least one year in a janitorial or housekeeping maintenance position within a manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Capable of working around employees, manufacturing processes, and tight spaces.
• Experience and knowledge using cleaning equipment.
• Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
• Capable of working independently.
• Ability to manage time efficiently.

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least, 6-months to 1-year in a janitorial or housekeeping position
