Help create software used by scientists worldwide to analyze complex data and drive scientific innovation. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will develop and enhance full-stack scientific software applications, working across both the user interface and backend components. You will contribute to Java-based applications and database-driven solutions that support innovation in life science research.

Previous experience in scientific software or mass spectrometry is not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based software used by scientists worldwide to analyze mass spectrometry data.
• Design and implement features across both backend services and user interface components.
• Develop database-driven functionality and data management solutions.
• Develop new product features and continuously improve existing applications.
• Collaborate with software engineers, application scientists, and testers in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and software quality improvements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in Java software development (typically 5+ years)
• Experience developing database-driven applications and working with SQL
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within development teams
• Very good English communication skills (minimum B2 level)

It would be a plus if you have

• Experience developing user interfaces with Eclipse RCP (Rich Client Platform).
• Experience with mass spectrometry data processing applications.
• Academic background in Chemistry, Physics, Bioinformatics, Biology, Food Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• German language skills.
