The work:

The Jira Developer designs, builds, and maintains advanced Jira and Jira Service Management solutions, focusing on custom development, automation, and extensibility across Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud. This role emphasizes coding, scripted customization, and system integrations to deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities:

Develop custom functionality using Groovy (ScriptRunner), Java, and REST API integrations to extend Jira and JSM capabilities. Build and maintain complex automation scripts, post-functions, listeners, validators, and conditions supporting key business workflows. Design, configure, and programmatically manage workflows, transitions, issue types, issue type schemes, screen schemes, field configurations, custom fields, and context management. Integrate Jira and JSM with external systems using REST APIs, JSON payloads, and structured data transformations. Work with Jira Assets (formerly Insight) to build custom object models, automation rules, and integrations across ITSM processes. Write optimized JQL queries, perform bulk operations, and support scripted searches and logic. Develop SQL queries and work with underlying databases to support reporting, troubleshooting, and performance analysis (Jira Data Center). Build advanced solutions that operate consistently across Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud, including migrating or adapting functionality when needed. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to custom scripting, workflow logic, API integrations, and database interactions. Provide documentation for all custom development, technical configurations, and integration patterns.

Here's what you need:

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Groovy (ScriptRunner), Java, REST API development, JSON, Jira Assets, and SQL/databases.
  • Experience with Jira Data Center/Cloud development.
  • Experience with Jira Assets for custom patterns, workflow, automation, and object modeling.
  • JQL debugging and performance optimization.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Washington, DC.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Science
  • Previous consulting experience and understanding customer/business needs

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:
$106,300—$206,200 USD
