Junior Buyer

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

MIN 2 years related experience in a buying environment would be advantageous. Proven track record. Experience in a service-related position. Positions are product specific and experience in the relative fields would be an advantage

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Senior Certificate / Grade 12.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Senior Certificate / Grade 12. Tertiary qualification in Buying / Supply Chain advantageous.

BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS:

Teamplayer. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Methodical, accurate, good interpersonal skills, problem solver, patience, diligence. Reliable, trustworthy and confident with ability to work under pressure, ensure productivity and meets deadlines. Service orientated and proactive. Energetic people would be an advantage.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Computer literate (MS Office), Excel in particular BSi Product knowledge would be advantageous. Microsoft D365 Dynamics would be advantageous.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION & PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for buy-outs (stocked and non-stocked), controlling of stock levels & the co-ordinating of stock movement through communication with suppliers & collegues, in relation to the BSI Group, ongoing interaction with all parties that may require your products. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Stock and Inventory Management

· Maintaining target stock levels without over-ordering

· Tracking inventory movement and preventing stockouts

· Monitoring product availability and reporting shortages or delays

· Monitoring aged stock levels

· Montior Customer Specific Stocks

Purchasing Administration and Execution

· Processing purchase requisitions and creating accurate purchase orders

· Capturing data correctly on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

· Accurate receiving and coordination of stock transfers/mill orders

· Following up on outstanding orders to ensure timely delivery

Cost and Budget Control

· Ensure sourcing of best price from approved suppliers/ingroup warehouses

· Assisting with basic cost savings targets

· Aligning purchases with allocated budgets and pricing guidelines

Administration of Production Orders

· Process internal production orders

· Stock Receipting and inventory reconciliation

Logistics Management

· Consolidation and co-ordination of transport loads

· Communication and ordering of transporters

· Communication of mill despatching and receiving dates

Compliance and Policy Adherence

· Following internal procurement processes and governance rules

· Ensuring documentation accuracy for audits and month-end closing

· Supporting internal company standards and procurement guidelines
