Junior PMS Engineer

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is a third-party ship manager providing a wide range of maritime services worldwide. With a strong workforce of shore-based employees and seafarers, we operate one of the world's largest maritime networks across more than 70 countries.

Wilhelmsen Ship Management Chennai is looking for a Junior PMS Engineer to join the Global PMS Support Team. This position is offered full time basis.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong technical aptitude and interest in Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS). The successful candidate will play a key role in building PMS component structures, creating maintenance jobs from maker's manuals, and maintaining high-quality technical data within the PMS database.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain PMS component structures based on vessel technical documentation and approved company standards.
• Review maker's manuals, technical drawings, and equipment documentation to create and update maintenance jobs, checklists, and intervals in the PMS.
• Extract, analyze, validate, and update technical maintenance data within the PMS System.
• Ensure PMS component structures and maintenance jobs comply with as per Company standards and best practices.
• Perform quality assurance checks on PMS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Support fleet-wide PMS database-building and improvement projects.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and database tools to analyze, validate, and manage PMS data.
• Prepare reports and summaries based on PMS and project requirements.
• Liaise with vessel personnel and internal stakeholders to obtain and clarify technical information when required.
• Contribute to team objectives and perform other duties assigned by the Team Lead.

Qualifications and Experience

• 1-2 years of relevant maritime experience is required.
• Experience in PMS, maintenance planning, technical documentation, or data management is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related discipline.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, filtering, and reporting.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance documentation.
• Previous onboard sailing experience (Engine or Deck Department) will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data quality.
