Role and Responsibilities as Kids Ministry Director

The Kids Ministry Director will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the ministries of CBC Littles & CBC Kids. This role will provide direct oversight of the CBC Littles Director and be responsible for the oversight of any staff and volunteers within this department. The primary responsibility of this role is to invest in and equip volunteers to spiritually invest in children with the prayer that they would follow Jesus, become like Jesus, and live on mission with Jesus.. Responsibilities include:

• Directly oversee CBC Littles Director, providing regular, cohesive shepherding, guidance, training, and equipping of the aforementioned staff to follow the mission at CBC with sound theological doctrine, aligning with the CBC Doctrinal Statement and Core Values.
• Responsible for oversight and administration of the CBC Kids (Pre-K - 5th Grade).
• Identify and develop an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with the CBC Family Ministry Scope and Sequence.
  • Building upon the foundations laid within cbcLittles’ ministry
  • Investing Biblical truths in preparation for the life of a believer, specifically toward middle school.
  • Plan and prepare songs, slides, games, activities, and teaching pairing with each week’s curriculum.
• Recruit, Schedule, Develop, and Care for cbcKids Volunteers.
  • Recruit new volunteers, maintaining a continual pipeline of volunteers ready to serve.
  • Interview potential volunteers, ensuring the vision and missional alignment for all volunteers through an adequate vetting process.
  • Develop volunteers by providing consistent training and resources.
  • Provide ongoing spiritual care and appreciation of all volunteers.
  • Develop a healthy volunteer culture and community.
• Work with Family Ministry Admin. Assistant to ensure CBC’s child protection policies & Ministry Safe is followed.
• Develop systems and processes to reach families that are new, absent, or have greater needs.
• Manage the ministry budget.
• Faithfully execute other duties as specified and assigned by the Family Pastor.

Requirements as a Staff member of CBC:

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and exhibit a meaningful and growing personal relationship with him that models the biblical standards of personal conduct and lifestyle.
• Maintain an authentic walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession of sin, fellowship and serving.
• Be an active member of CBC, growing in community with other believers.
• Support and adheres to the mission, core values, and church distinctives of CBC of Savannah, including the CBC of Savannah Statement of Faith.

Attend and participate in all weekly staff meetings/worship gatherings.
