Kitchen Assistant - Bayview Hospital

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen in delivering high-quality food services within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will assist with menu planning, food preparation, service, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery.
• Monitor food products for compliance with health regulations.
• Maintain courteous communication with vendors.
• Keep accurate records of food processing, inventory, and distribution.
• Ensure timely, polite service to all kitchen users.
• Label, store, and handle food safely.
• Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including equipment and appliances.

Qualifications

• General Catering Certificate and four (4) CXC subjects (including English & Mathematics),
  OR equivalent experience, education, or training.
• Knowledge of food preparation, inventory control, commercial kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
• Understanding of menu planning, nutrition, dietetics, and institutional food service practices.
