Join the Chemical & Thermal Solutions R&D team, a diverse and international group dedicated to developing next-generation coating technologies for some of the world's most demanding industrial environments. Our team works on advanced protective, thermal insulation, and specialty coatings that help customers safeguard their assets, reduce energy consumption, and enhance operational performance.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will work alongside scientists, engineers, and technical specialists, supporting the development, testing, and optimization of innovative coating solutions. From hands-on laboratory work and data analysis to tackling real industrial challenges, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to projects that make a tangible difference for customers around the world.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a dynamic laboratory environment while collaborating closely with scientists, engineers, and technical teams.

Contract Duration

This is a one-year fixed-term position with the possibility to extend.

What will your responsibilities be?

Laboratory Support

• Support scientists in the design, preparation, and execution of coating development projects.
• Prepare coating formulations, test panels, substrates, and laboratory samples according to established procedures.
• Conduct routine laboratory experiments and testing activities.
• Assist in scale-up trials and validation studies.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and workspaces in good working condition.
• Manage laboratory inventories, chemicals, consumables, and sample storage.

Testing & Characterization

• Perform physical, chemical, and performance testing of coatings and raw materials.
• Prepare test reports and document experimental observations.
• Ensure all testing is conducted according to relevant internal, ASTM, ISO, and customer standards.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data.
• Generate graphs, technical summaries, and reports using Excel and laboratory software.
• Identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement from test results.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and databases.
• Support scientists in preparing technical presentations and project reviews.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Follow laboratory safety procedures and company EHS requirements.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
• Maintain calibration and verification records for laboratory equipment.
• Support internal audits and quality management system activities.

Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D scientists, application engineers, quality teams, and production personnel.
• Assist with customer sample preparation and testing requests.
• Participate in problem-solving activities related to product performance, manufacturing, and customer feedback.

What do we look for in you?

Education

• Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or Technical Diploma in:
  • Chemistry
  • Materials Science
  • Chemical Engineering Technology
  • Polymer Science
  • Laboratory Technology
  • Related technical field

Experience

• 1-3 years of laboratory experience in coatings, paints, adhesives, inks, polymers, or related industries preferred.
• Experience with coating application and testing techniques is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of laboratory practices and scientific testing methods.
• Experience with analytical instruments and testing equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to interpret test results and communicate findings clearly.
