About this role
1. Assess the Chambers’ filing system and make proposals for a new system which is conducive to the needs of
the Chambers in order to ensure the Chambers are kept efficient and up-to-date.
2. Organise the law library so that materials are properly shelved, easily accessible for public retrieval, and
properly indexed and inventories pursuant to generally accepted law library standards and guidelines.
3. Perform technical services including shelving, basic cataloguing and collection maintenance to ensure the
library is kept to a high standard and efficiently run.
4. Answer information queries and perform basic circulation procedures in a timely and professional manner.
5. Locate and provide materials to lawyers and the authorized public as requested.
6. Conduct research as required.
7. Assists with the re-ordering and distribution of BVI Laws and binding BVI Gazettes and subscriptions.
8. Attend meetings, workshops and training sessions as instructed to ensure awareness of any change in policies
or procedures which may be relevant to the role.
9. Research, analyse and prepare reports.
10. Perform any other related duties as required by Supervisor or any other senior officer in order to contribute to
the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department.
