LC Development Scientist

In this role, you will help transform innovative scientific concepts into commercially successful products, working alongside experts across hardware, software, clinical assays and customer workflows to deliver solutions that can make a meaningful impact on patient care worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the development of innovative LC-MS based clinical systems, helping to transform scientific concepts into products that address real-world clinical and healthcare challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across science, engineering, software and product development to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer and business needs.
• Drive scientific investigations, experimental studies and technology evaluations to support the advancement of next-generation clinical analytical systems.
• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise in chromatography, mass spectrometry or related technologies, influencing product strategy and development decisions.
• Define system requirements, specifications and performance expectations, ensuring new technologies can be successfully developed, verified and transferred into commercial products.
• Build effective partnerships with internal teams, external collaborators and technology providers to accelerate innovation and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies, scientific developments and industry trends, using these insights to identify opportunities for future product innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline; an advanced degree (MSc, PhD or equivalent) is advantageous.

Experience:

• Proven experience in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, LC-MS informatics, or a related scientific field, ideally within the development of analytical or clinical diagnostic instrumentation.
• Strong technical understanding of LC, LC-MS or comparable analytical systems, including system architecture, integration, verification and product development processes.
• Demonstrated ability to design, execute and interpret scientific investigations, applying data-driven approaches to solve complex technical challenges.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience developing technical documentation, requirements, specifications or scientific reports within a structured product development environment.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to balance independent technical contribution with effective teamwork in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Travel:

Occasional international travel may be required to support customer interactions, partner collaborations, product investigations and development activities.
