Overview

Starbucks is known for developing extraordinary partners who share a passion for coffee and are guided by their commitment to quality service and meaningful guest connections.

The Lead Barista assists the Starbucks Manager with training and development of staff. Performs duties of all positions within the department. Resolves employee and guest-related problems. Uses proper cash handling and accounting procedures. Acts as a Store Manager when required.

Summary:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and more
• Engage with customers, taking their orders, and providing recommendations based on their preferences
• Create latte art and ensure each drink is beautifully presented
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee machines and equipment
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of our coffee products
• Upsell additional items such as pastries, snacks, or merchandise
• Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register accurately
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory or lead trainer experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other Team Members
• Experience with MICROS POS system or similar point-of-sale platforms a plus
• Prior ServeSafe Certification preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills & ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early AM shifts, weekends, and holidays
