Duties of the Lead Commissioner
As the Lead commissioner you will support the directorate management team to achieve value for money when it comes to commissioning placements across SEND and Childrens social services. The main duties of this role include:
- Manage the effective commissioning of children’s services placements
- Support the service managers with commission priorities and support the team development in seeking to commission placements
- Report to the HoS on progress with commissioning priorities and budget saving
- Lead fee and price negotiations at service level
- Devise new service delivery models for both internal and external providers

Key requirements for the role
In order to be considered for this role you must:
- Have experience within commissioning within a LA setting
- Experience giving advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
- In depth knowledge of children and family services
- Full UK right to work and driving licence
