Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the document control system to ensure accurate tracking, archiving, and retrieval of project-related documents.
- Establish and enforce document control procedures in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
- Coordinate the flow of engineering drawings, submittals, specifications, RFIs, and other documents among project stakeholders.
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before distribution.
- Train and support team members on document control processes and systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for document control issues within the project.
- Ensure timely distribution and acknowledgment of controlled documents to internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate document control reports and track document status throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure proper documentation handling.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
· Diploma from a recognized institution with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of document control principles and practices in engineering or construction projects.
- Proven experience with Oracle-based document control platforms (e.g., Aconex, Primavera Unifier, or similar).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of ISO document control standards is a plus.
