About the role

The Lead Physical Therapist – Orthopedics is a practicing clinician who provides day-to-day onsite clinical leadership and operational support for orthopedic physical therapy services at the Brentwood clinic. This role serves as a clinical leader for Origin’s orthopedic care model and works in close collaboration with pelvic health physical therapists to provide comprehensive, whole-person care for women across all ages and stages of life.

In partnership with the Clinical Director, the Lead PT – Orthopedics supports clinical quality, team communication, clinic operations, patient experience, growth of orthopedic services, and company initiatives.

Clinical Care & Orthopedic Leadership

• Maintain a clinical caseload and model high-quality, evidence-informed, patient-centered orthopedic physical therapy care.
• Evaluate and treat orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions across the lifespan, with particular expertise in the needs of women throughout different ages and stages of life.
• Provide care for conditions involving the spine, upper and lower extremities, sports and activity-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and other musculoskeletal conditions within the physical therapist’s scope of practice.
• Collaborate closely with pelvic health physical therapists when patients would benefit from both orthopedic and pelvic health expertise.
• Support a coordinated care model in which orthopedic and pelvic health clinicians communicate and collaborate rather than treating conditions in isolation.
• Help clinicians identify when an orthopedic patient may benefit from pelvic health assessment and when a pelvic health patient may benefit from orthopedic assessment.
• Serve as an onsite orthopedic clinical resource for PTs and other team members.
• Support clinical mentorship, case consultation, peer coaching, and development of orthopedic clinical skills.
• Promote consistent clinical standards, documentation, outcomes tracking, and evidence-informed practice.

Service Line Development & Growth

• Support the development and implementation of orthopedic physical therapy services within the Brentwood clinic.
• Partner with clinic and company leadership to establish workflows that effectively integrate orthopedic and pelvic health services.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient access to orthopedic care and expand the number of patients who can receive comprehensive care within Origin.
• Help educate the clinic team on orthopedic services, appropriate patient populations, and opportunities for internal collaboration.
• Support relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, fitness professionals, community partners, and other referral sources as appropriate.
• Participate in community education, outreach, and other initiatives designed to increase awareness of Origin’s orthopedic services.
• Monitor orthopedic schedules, capacity, patient access, and visit volume and communicate opportunities or barriers to leadership.
• Provide feedback to leadership regarding patient needs, clinical trends, and opportunities for future development of orthopedic services.

Clinic Leadership & Operations

• Serve as an onsite point person for routine operational, staffing, scheduling, and patient needs.
• Lead staff meetings as assigned

An orthopedic patient experiencing low back, hip, pelvic, abdominal, or lower-extremity symptoms may benefit from pelvic health expertise. Similarly, a pelvic health patient may benefit from orthopedic expertise to address strength, mobility, movement, pain, injury, or return to higher-level activity.

The Orthopedic Lead Physical Therapist will actively collaborate with pelvic health clinicians to identify these opportunities and provide coordinated care.

About you

• Interest in women's health and whole-body physical therapy
• Willingness to develop knowledge of the intersection between orthopedic and pelvic health conditions
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of California

Bonus points

• 2+ years of orthopedic physical therapy experience
• Experience treating active women, athletes, pregnancy/postpartum musculoskeletal conditions, or patients during perimenopause and menopause
• Manual therapy, strength and conditioning, return-to-sport, or other advanced orthopedic training

Compensation

• The base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $125,000, plus bonus
