Legal Counsel

RESPONSABILITIES:

Providing legal advice on daily operations to all areas of the company and document management for Perú. The position may require providing legal services to other countries in the region (subject to capability of the team and future requirements).

Handling corporate matters (incorporation of companies, holding of AGMs), contractual (preparation, review, modification of contracts with financial entities, clients and suppliers), regulatory compliance, procedural, dispute resolution, labor, administrative, real estate, intellectual property, insurance and customs issues.

Provide legal support for special projects (e.g., M&A, developments, financings)

Preventing/foreseeing contingencies and resolution of disputes.

Identifying and evaluating legal risks and mitigating them.

Compiling legal documents and creating files and document management systems.

Monitoring legal risk matrix (contracts, permits, licenses, certifications, regulatory compliance, among others).

Performing other functions assigned by your immediate superior.

JOB PROFILE

EDUCATION

Law degree in Perú

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION

Post-graduate studies in corporate/commercial law appreciated.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / DESIREABLE

Work experience of at least 5 years occupying similar positions in industrial or sector companies, or at law firms.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• Experience in business legal advice, preferably in the warehousing and transportation services industry.

• Knowledge and experience in corporate law (corporate, contractual – clients and suppliers, regulatory, insurance, etc.), procedural, labor, administrative, real estate, customs law.

• Solid knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

OTHER SKILLS/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCES:

• Communication skills, teamwork and efficient decision making.

• Ability to make informed decisions and handle multiple legal matters efficiently. Proactive attitude and orientation towards problem solving.

• Meticulous focus on precision and attention to detail.

• Coordination and review of work done by outside legal counsel.

• Self-starter who can take initiative and operate well in a team environment.

LANGUAGES

• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
