Title: Ukrainian Linguist

Clearance Required: DoD Secret
Citizenship: US
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Education: BS preferred or equivalent professional experience

Total Years of Experience: 5+ years

Position Purpose:
The position requires near-native to native level Ukrainian and English competency. Translators will be required to perform a full range of tasks, including but not limited to monitoring and research on open source foreign language media, translation, summarization, and report writing.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
+ Must be a US Citizen.

+ Must be fluent in Ukrainian.

+ Must be fluent in English and have strong English writing and speaking skills.

+ Must have experience translating and summarizing a wide variety of complex texts from the source language into English. These texts may contain difficult, idiomatic, scientific, and colloquial writing.

+ Preference for an individual with experience working in a military environment.

+ Must be highly capable in Microsoft applications and internet research.

+ Must have demonstrated experience conducting research.

+ Must have the ability to review foreign language audio/video material and write/transcribe information into English with a high degree of accuracy and expression.

+ Must be able to accurately capture cultural subtleties, nuance, and emphasis. A level of cultural mastery is required to capture socio-cultural essentials embedded in text, to include political, religious, historic, and ethnic elements.

+ One to three years' professional experience translating and summarizing a wide variety of complex text from the source language into English.

+ Experience with the open source internet research.
