About the Role

We’re hiring a Logistics Specialist to own freight execution for the Supply Chain team. Once a shipment is built, this seat gets it on a truck at the right cost, by the right mode, on the right lane — reliably and on time. You’ll run the full bid-to-audit cycle: quote the modes for every lane, recommend the best option, tender the load once it’s approved, manage the carrier relationships, and audit the freight bill after.

This is the department’s freight seat. You’ll own the movement of product from our facility into the fulfillment network end to end — quoting through audit. You won’t own the award decision itself; you bring the recommendation and the Supply Chain leader approves it. The judgment in this role is reading a lane and knowing which mode wins on the balance of cost and reliability.

What You’ll Do

Freight quoting & mode selection - Run the bid cycle — take built shipments through our transportation management system to priced freight, promptly and accurately. - Quote every lane across modes — LTL, FTL, and partnered/direct carrier options — and recommend the cheapest reliable mode, not simply the cheapest. - Read the lane — know when a mode’s savings aren’t worth the transit or reliability trade-off, and call it.

Tendering & carrier management - Tender awarded loads cleanly to the carrier and keep shipments moving without delay. - Own carrier relationships — hold the capacity and service levels the department depends on.

Freight audit & feedback - Audit the freight bill against what was quoted and awarded — catch overcharges, accessorial errors, and billing mistakes before they’re paid. - Feed transit-by-mode actuals back to the plan — capture how each mode actually performs (transit days, reliability) so the department’s mode choices improve over time.

How Success Is Measured

• Freight moves on time and at the right cost — the cheapest reliable mode per lane.
• Awards recommended cleanly and fast — nothing sits waiting on a quote.
• Carriers reliable — capacity available when needed; service holds.
• Freight bills audited — overcharges and errors caught, not paid.
• Transit-by-mode actuals flowing back — the department knows which modes deliver.

What You Bring

• 2–4 years in freight, transportation, or logistics coordination — you’ve quoted and booked freight and worked carriers or brokers to move loads.
• Lane judgment — you weigh cost against transit and reliability and make the call.
• Carrier management — you can run the hand-off to a carrier and hold the relationship.
• Detail reliability on the freight bill — you audit invoices and catch accessorial and overcharge errors.
• Comfort in the tools — a transportation management system (or comparable TMS), carrier and broker portals, and spreadsheets.
• Coordination without authority — you work across the team to get loads out the door.
