Our Programs:
ExcelPrep provides two distinct programs designed to meet the needs of diverse learners:
- PreK–8 Academic Program: Grounded in Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching, instruction focuses on core academic skills—reading, writing, and mathematics—through explicit, systematic teaching that emphasizes mastery, fluency, and generalization.
- Clinical ABA Program (Ages 3–13): A cognition- and linguistics-based ABA program focused on building cognitive skills and supporting social behavior learning within a structured instructional environment. Instruction is individualized, data-driven, and directed toward foundational skill development that promotes learning, communication, and independence.
Instructional Pillars (Across Programs)
Across both programs, ExcelPrep centers the following core practices:
- Direct Instruction and evidence-based instructional design
- Precision Teaching and data-based decision-making
- Instruction grounded in behavior science research
- Occupational Therapy delivered as a prioritized therapy alongside ABA to support sensory-motor development
Job Summary
ExcelPrep Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide consistent instruction and classroom leadership for an extended period. This role is critical to maintaining continuity for students and supporting academic progress and skill development during the absence of a regular teaching staff member.
The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and committed to high standards of learning. The candidate will follow established lesson structures, support classroom expectations, and reinforce a positive, structured environment aligned with ExcelPrep’s mission and instructional approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily instruction aligned to existing curriculum and lesson plans
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and predictable classroom environment
- Implement classroom routines and behavioral expectations consistently
- Support student learning through individualized supports as directed
- Grade and record assignments and assessment results in accordance with program needs
- Track student progress and communicate updates to appropriate staff members
- Participate in school meetings and required professional activities
- Maintain respectful, professional communication with students, families, and staff
- Follow all confidentiality and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Teaching certification (preferred) or relevant classroom teaching experience (required for consideration)
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively
- Ability to follow established curriculum and instructional practices
- Comfort working with students who benefit from structured, data-informed instruction
- Ability to use standard classroom tools/technology (e.g., Chromebooks, instructional platforms, data systems)
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with school policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in substitute teaching, long-term substitution, or classroom instruction
- Familiarity with Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, or data-based instructional practices
- Experience supporting neurodiverse learners
- Experience with behavior support strategies consistent with ABA principles
- Experience in academic intervention, tutoring, or skill-based learning environments
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Starting at $25/HR
Schedule: Full-time during school hours (Mon–Fri)
