Role Overview: We are seeking multiple skilled MAG Welders who have experience in shipbuilding to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of the vessels they manufacture. As a MAG Welder, you will be responsible for executing welding tasks in accordance with specifications and standards set by the marine industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MAG welding on steel and other materials used in shipbuilding.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Ensure weld quality meets company and industry standards.
- Conduct welding operations while maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Inspect welds for defects and make necessary corrections.
- Collaborate with fabricators and other welders to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain equipment and tools to ensure optimal functionality.
- Follow safety guidelines to prevent workplace accidents.
- Document work completed and report any discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a MAG Welder, preferably in the shipbuilding sector.
- Certification in MIG/MAG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of welding machinery and tools.
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Good physical condition and stamina to work in various environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
