Maintenance Technician - #35307

As a Maintenance Technician, you will support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mud crab and sea cucumber hatchery systems. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, utilities, and supporting infrastructure to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operations, while working closely with hatchery personnel to minimise downtime and maintain a safe, efficient working environment.

As part of their ongoing growth, they are expanding their team in the Philippines and looking for a proactive, highly motivated Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mud crab and sea cucumber hatchery facilities, ensuring reliable equipment performance and efficient, uninterrupted operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair hatchery equipment, including pumps, blowers, filtration systems, UV sterilisers, ozone systems, protein skimmers, compressors, aeration systems, generators, lab equipment and associated life-support equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out timely repairs
• Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialised servicing when required

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain hatchery buildings, plumbing systems, water distribution systems, drainage, tanks, valves, and associated infrastructure
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems
• Ensure maintenance tools, spare parts, and workshop areas are organised and in good condition
• Monitor consumables and recommend procurement of spare parts and maintenance supplies

Operational Support

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
• Assist hatchery staff with equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Support commissioning activities and system performance testing
• Ensure critical life-support systems remain operational at all times

Health, Safety & Documentation

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures during all maintenance activities
• Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and repair reports
• Ensure compliance with hatchery SOPs and Good Aquaculture Practices (GAqP)

Requirements

• Diploma, Technical Certificate, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably within aquaculture, water treatment, food processing, manufacturing, or other industrial facilities
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems
• Experience with water pumps, blowers, piping systems, valves, electrical control panels, and generators
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Able to work independently and respond effectively during equipment emergencies
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English and Filipino

Advantageous or Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:

• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals
• Basic welding, fabrication, electrical and plumbing skills
