Role Overview

We are looking for a Management Accountant to own the monthly management accounts, cost control, and balance sheet integrity for the business, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. This role carries a particular focus on subscription revenue recognition, third party data and licensing costs, and the cost base behind our monitoring platform and analyst operations.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounts & Reporting

• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet) to a tight close timetable.

• Support preparation of board packs and investor reporting alongside FP&A.

Revenue Recognition

• Maintain deferred revenue schedules for annual and multi-year subscription and monitoring contracts.

• Ensure revenue recognition complies with accounting standards.

• Reconcile billed versus recognized revenue and manage unbilled revenue.

Cost Accounting

• Track and allocate the cost of media data feeds across print, broadcast, social, and online.

• Manage accruals and prepayments.

• Account for infrastructure and platform costs.

Balance Sheet & Controls

• Own balance sheet reconciliations: accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, debtors, creditors, and intercompany.

• Support multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation where the business operates across regions.

• Assist with statutory audit, year-end financial statements, and technical accounting papers.

Business Partnering & Improvement

• Provide variance analysis (actual versus budget and forecast) with commentary, especially on

licensing costs, FX-driven data costs, and headcount costs.

• Drive automation and process improvement in close, reporting, and reconciliations.

• Support finance systems work.

Requirements

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

• Experience: 3 to 5 years in management accounting, ideally within a subscription or SaaS, media,

information services, or data business.

• Working knowledge of subscription revenue recognition (IFRS 15 / ASC 606).

• Strong Excel skills, with experience across ERP systems (for example Microsoft Dynamics).

• Comfortable working with multi-currency data given global content sourcing.

• High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines.
