Why This Role

As a Manager, you will lead high‑impact client engagements across Japan, guiding organisations through operational risk, performance improvement, and transformation. You will shape project direction, manage delivery teams, and build strong client relationships while contributing to new consulting opportunities and thought leadership.

Industry / Practice Focus

You will work within our Operational Risk Management practice, bringing industry insights and global best practices to clients in sectors such as mining, oil & gas, chemicals, power & utilities, agribusiness, food & beverage, and industrial manufacturing.

Your Impact

You will lead multi‑workstream projects, design solutions, and support clients in achieving sustainable improvements. You will also help develop methodologies, contribute to thought leadership, and coach junior team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead delivery of operational risk and performance engagements;

• Manage multiple workstreams and ensure high‑quality outcomes;

• Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders;

• Identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends;

• Develop thought leadership and contribute to dss+ IP;

• Guide junior team members in project management and client interactions;

• Conduct assessments, develop recommendations, and support implementation;

• Facilitate workshops and alignment discussions.

Requirements

Who You Are

• You bring analytical strength, curiosity, and the ability to work effectively in diverse environments.

Experience & Capabilities

• 8+ years of client‑facing experience, ideally including consulting;

• Exposure to operational excellence or operational risk management;

• Strong project management and team leadership experience;

• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills;

• Ability to structure complex problems and develop clear recommendations;

• Experience in asset‑intensive industries is an advantage;

• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio; project management tools beneficial;

• A strong professional network in Japan is a plus.

Education & Languages

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, science, or related fields;

• Fluency in Japanese; strong English proficiency.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
