Manager Crew Insights & Optimization

Synopsis

This role will contribute to the analytics transformation process of Etihad's Operations division to transform it into a competitive advantage for the company by implementing data science models to drive incremental cost savings and increase efficiency and revenue for the Crew Resources Team within the Operations division of the airline. This role requires a combination of technical and domain expertise to successfully deliver and implement advanced analytical solutions. 

Accountabilities

•    Drive cost savings, crew roster optimization and scheduling efficiency by developing advanced analytical models (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) and deploying them in the Operational ecosystem.
•    Develop and maintain calibration of models to ensure they are relevant and optimal for the current business state. 
•    Monitor the benefits of the advanced analytical models and provide monthly reports and actionable insights to the leadership team.
•    Research and propose ways to enhance the existing business processes by effectively utilizing advanced analytical solutions.
•    Communicate and present insights to relevant stakeholders.
•    Manage user acceptance testing and roll-out of new models and enhancements of the existing ones to ensure delivery of requirements as per the business needs without any severe defects or bugs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

•    Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or data science.
•    4 - 6+ years of relevant experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data science models.
•    Advanced knowledge of statistics and mathematical concepts underpinning advanced analytics models
•    Experience using data science programming languages (Python), SQL, and cloud-based data warehouses
•    Experience building, deploying, and maintaining advanced analytical or data models in a business setting.
•    Experience using GitHub or similar tools for code management.
•    Experience using Databricks for modelling.  
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Professional with deep analytical skills and an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
•    Experience within the aviation/travel industry in the operational areas is preferred.
•    Desirable: experience in crew data-related analytical roles in the airline industry.
