Manager, Sponsored Projects

Overview

The Manager, Sponsored Projects is responsible for the Institute's preaward grant administration with moderate supervision. The position requires extensive interaction with faculty, medical program managers, program administrative managers, Philanthropy, and Finance.

Responsibilities

1. Primarily responsible for the Institute's sponsored projects and acts as primary liaison with program area administrators and Principal Investigators (PIs) on all preaward aspects of their grants with moderate supervision and management involvement.2. Assists with grant proposal preparation, including developing submission checklists after reviewing funding opportunities, budget construction, administrative documents, and formatted proposals per sponsor requirements. 3. Facilitates, in conjunction with the PI and the program finance manager, the submission of Just-in-Time information. 4. Prepares, reviews, files, and enters grants and subcontracts into the Fibi proposal routing and tracking system and follows up on the status of grant applications, foundation proposals, and collaborative agreements.5. Updates PI Other Support after proposal submissions.6. Upon award, starts the internal process for award set up in Fibi.7. Maintains current knowledge of Institute, federal, state, and agency policies and guidelines for Sponsored Projects administration.8. Supports the Assistant Director of Sponsored Research Programs in developing, maintaining, and updating all related standard operating procedures.9. Completes project-based, key word driven searches in the PIVOT, or other system, for applicable funding opportunities.10. Provide support with additional research administration tasks as needed when the pre-award submission volume is down. This may include, but not be limited to, auditing and updating Other Support forms, assisting with Fibi sponsored projects reporting updates, ensuring shared folders are organized to department specifications, and reviewing and updating templates and policies as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sponsored Research Programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting is required.

EXPERIENCE:• Minimum two years of related experience is required.• Experience managing multiple activities/projects, including financial aspects, required.• Experience in financial forecasting required.• Experience with grant preparation is required.• Experience with clinical trials is preferred.
