Managing Consultant- Infrastructure Resilience

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Managing Consultant – Infrastructure Resilience based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to help energy and utility clients address complex challenges related to climate resilience, grid modernization, sustainability, and infrastructure adaptation.
You will combine research, data analytics, economic analysis, and strategic problem-solving to develop practical solutions with measurable client impact.
The position involves working across multidisciplinary project teams while taking ownership of technical workstreams and supporting junior team members.
You will translate complex climate, energy, and infrastructure data into clear insights, compelling presentations, and actionable recommendations.
The role provides exposure to senior client stakeholders, workshops, and strategic projects within the evolving energy and utilities landscape.
You will work in a collaborative environment that values curiosity, creativity, analytical rigor, and continuous professional development.
Travel of up to 25% may be required, with opportunities to work remotely or from client and office locations across the United States.

• Contribute to creative, evidence-based problem-solving that addresses client priorities and delivers practical outcomes.

• Conduct detailed research, fact-finding, and analysis related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, customer programs, and emerging energy business models.

• Work with public and private sources of downscaled climate and weather data, including downloading, processing, and isolating datasets relevant to specific client assets using approaches such as nearest-neighbor analysis.

• Perform statistical, economic, and data analyses using tools such as Microsoft Excel, R, and Python.

• Lead technical workstreams within projects and provide guidance and support to junior analysts.

• Develop models, analytical frameworks, visualizations, reports, presentations, workshop materials, and other client deliverables.

• Participate in client workshops and meetings, helping prepare materials, facilitate discussions, document outcomes, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

• Present analytical results and insights in a clear, engaging way that resonates with clients and supports informed decision-making.

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and client teams while also managing assigned work independently.

• Synthesize complex information, identify underlying drivers of results, and communicate findings through effective data storytelling.

Requirements:

• U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen due to the nature of client engagements.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

• At least 5 years of relevant utilities, energy, or consulting experience, excluding internships, co-ops, graduate research, and fellowships.

• Professional experience related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, sustainability, energy efficiency, renewable energy, or closely related areas.

• Demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead technical project workstreams, including managing or mentoring junior-level analysts.

• Strong analytical, quantitative, research, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of approaching complex questions creatively and investigating the underlying causes of results.

• Proficiency in data analytics and experience developing models using Microsoft Excel and/or programming languages such as R or Python.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver compelling PowerPoint presentations.

• Strong ability to visualize data, synthesize insights, and communicate findings through effective storytelling.

• Strong client-service orientation and highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and project-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, plan and organize work effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.

• High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

• Strong interest in business strategy, energy, sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

• Ability and willingness to travel as required and work from office or client locations when needed.

• Preferred qualifications include an advanced STEM degree, engineering or energy-sector experience, and familiarity with climate and weather models and datasets.

• Experience with geospatial visualization tools such as ArcGIS and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are also valued.
