The Analyst is responsible for U.S. market and economic analysis within Empower’s Strategist Office. The Strategist Office develops Empower’s economic and market outlook and provides market perspectives to financial media, clients, and the general public.

The role conducts sector, industry, macroeconomic, and financial market research; contributes to economic and market outlooks; supports separately managed account activities; and develops research and content for internal and external audiences.

What You Will Do

• Provide ongoing research coverage of U.S. sectors and industries, with an emphasis on valuations and scenario analysis of company and industry fundamentals, including earnings, revenue, and cash flow
• Conduct macroeconomic and financial market research and contribute to quarterly and annual Economic and Market Outlooks
• Support the management of a separately managed account (SMA) by providing research, analysis, and insights related to portfolio positioning and performance
• Conduct ad hoc economic, market, sector, and industry research in support of media, conferences, and client needs
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop research-driven content for internal and external audiences

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field strongly preferred
• 5 years of relevant experience in investment research, economic research, equity research, market strategy, asset management, or a related field
• Current CFA designation strongly preferred; or at minimum progress towards completing CFA (i.e. Level I or Level II passed)
• Proficiency with Bloomberg (BBG)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Ability to develop compelling data visualizations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated persistence, creativity, and intellectual curiosity

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience conducting U.S. macroeconomic, financial market, sector, or industry research
• Experience with fundamental analysis, valuation analysis, and financial modeling
• Experience supporting portfolio management or separately managed accounts
• Experience translating complex economic and market research into content for clients, media, or other external audiences

Base Salary Range

$87,400.00 - $123,400.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
