Marketing Assistant, Dining Services, Part-time

Overview

The Marketing Assistant will support the Dining Service department by aiding in planning, promoting, and executing marketing initiatives for on-campus dining programs. This role blends creativity with hands-on experience, offering the opportunity to develop marketing skills in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Schedule: Up to 18 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED. Required

EXPERIENCE

• Experience with software programs such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Outlook/email, and social media platforms. Required
• Ability to learn functions within the dining service department and related software programs. Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Familiarity with dining plans and dining room facilities. Preferred
• Ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers. Required
• Ability to communicate clearly and work on a team. Required
• Ability to multitask and perform simple tasks, following written and verbal instructions. Required
• Detail oriented and able to work on own initiative. Required
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Required
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Required
• Neat and clean grooming and hygiene habits. Required
• Must present a positive image while representing Dining Services. Required
• Must follow all workplace safety procedures. Required

Responsibilities

• Assist with event and dining marketing including, but not limited to, creating, scheduling, and distributing social media content, photographs, web content, and marketing materials. Ensure appropriate approval channels are maintained prior to posting social media content and/or publication and distribution of marketing materials
• Provide guidance to visitors during college events, such as Open House, offering clear and friendly assistance while answering questions related to dining services, dining plans, unit locations, and other dining-related inquires.
• Assist with special projects and daily office operations as assigned by supervisor, providing support and completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Attend select dining events and document activities through social media content

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

• Lifting not to exceed 40 lbs.
• Occasional lifting not to exceed 75 lbs., when done with assistance.
• Pushing and pulling of carts not to exceed 200 lbs., when fully loaded.
• Standing/walking for long periods of time.
• May require frequent moving around to events across campus.

Pay Transparency

$15.89 per hour.
