Material Damage Field Appraiser

This position is responsible for delivering high‑quality onsite appraisal services for auto property damage claims. Core responsibilities include conducting field inspections, preparing accurate estimates, handling onsite supplements, and managing customer drive‑in appointments. The role also supports related claim processes such as subrogation, salvage, total loss evaluations, and SIU referrals. This position requires strong technical expertise in damage assessment, estimating platforms, negotiation, and claim resolution. The ideal candidate must live in the Miami, Florida area and is able to work independently in the field with minimal supervision and serve as a knowledgeable resource for other claims personnel.

About the ROLE

Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as a Material Damage Appraiser in Claims, you will:

oPerform photo based and onsite vehicle inspections to assess auto property damage.

oPrepare detailed, accurate estimates using approved estimating platforms.

oIdentify repair needs and negotiate same with repair facilities.

oEnsure prompt and timely resolutions according to company goals and guidelines.

oConduct onsite supplement reviews with repair facilities.

oEvaluate total loss vehicles per company guidelines.

oHandle special projects as needed.

oAdhere to compliance training to meet state and federal laws.

oContinued education to hold and maintain required licenses.

oWork independently in the field with minimal supervision.

oServe as a technical resource for claims personnel and assist with complex claim scenarios.

oBuild strong working relationships with repair facilities, vendors, and internal teams.

About YOU

Required

o Must live in the Miami, Florida area

o5 years of P&C insurance background with a minimum of 3 years automotive appraisal experience.

oSignificant knowledge of repair and total loss techniques and statutory requirements are necessary.

oSpanish-English bilingual proficiency

oValid Driver’s License

Preferred

oUndergraduate Degree.

Physical Requirements

oProlonged periods sitting in a car and at a desk working on the computer.

oMust be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
