EK SERVICES INC. IS HIRING FOR A HEAVY TRUCK AND EQUIPMENT MECHANIC


E.K. Services, Inc. is a woman owned, full-service utility, excavating and paving construction contractor offering commercial and residential services throughout central Pennsylvania and beyond.


JOB SUMMARY: A mechanic who has relevant experience in construction, and can repair, rebuild, and maintain all types of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles. Must have the ability to diagnose and repair/rebuild inoperative or malfunctioning equipment independently and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES&RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Management to understand their concerns and properly diagnose issues
  • Preferably some electrical background
  • Produce accurate and itemized work estimates for Management
  • Maintain Commercial Motor Vehicles and other Equipment according to Manufacturer's Preventative Maintenance Schedules and according to the needs of the Company per Management
  • Utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment to accurately pinpoint issues, when necessary
  • Must have some welding experiences
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and alert Management to issues that will prevent their equipment from performing optimally or passing necessary vehicle inspections
  • Complete daily inspection reports, safety meetings and time reporting paperwork
  • Keep work areas organized and clean
  • Maintain professional appearance and use personal protection equipment (PPE) when required
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ASE Mechanic or equivalent certification (preferred)
  • Must be able to follow direction and use industry standard safety precautions when working on equipment
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Valid driver's license
  • Class 7 inspection license


EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ years' experience performing Heavy Equipment, Commercial Motor Vehicle Repair and Diesel Mechanic Service work
