Job Summary:
Serves as an experienced mechanic and performs preventative maintenance as well as minor and major mechanical repairs on University vehicles and other mechanical equipment.Job Description:
- Services and maintains mechanical equipment and University vehicles.
- Repairs electrical systems such as alternators, starters, wiring problems, etc.
- Recommends the replacement of or the purchase of equipment, parts, and supplies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Mounting & balancing tires
- Preventative maintenance including oil changes
- Full brake system repair
- Steering & suspension repair
- Engine performance & mechanical repair (gas & diesel)
- Drivetrain repair including some transmission repair or replacement
- Using diagnostic equipment: scan tools, test lights, multimeter, and other tools
- Hydraulic cylinder & hose repair
- A/C system service & repair
Preferred Qualification: 3 years of related experience
Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
