Your New Role

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects

• Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for plan-and-spec, design-build, and negotiated projects

• Perform detailed material takeoffs for ductwork, piping, HVAC equipment, and related mechanical systems

• Solicit, review, and evaluate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Develop detailed bid proposals covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs

• Analyze mechanical plans and specifications to identify project scope, risks, and value-engineering opportunities

• Collaborate with project managers, sales, and leadership throughout the estimating and bidding process

• Track submitted bids, bid results, and win/loss information

• Maintain historical cost data and pricing databases to support accurate HVAC estimating

• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks as needed

• Assist with the transition of awarded projects from estimating to the project management and operations teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience estimating commercial mechanical or HVAC construction projects

• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment

• Experience with plan-and-spec estimating and bidding processes

• Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work

• Experience performing mechanical and HVAC material takeoffs and developing detailed cost estimates

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
