Role: Mechanical Designer

Location: Birmingham, AL

Duration: 12+ Months

Required Skills:

·Mechanical Designer must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience related to the design of new construction and / or retrofit of power generation facilities.

·Proficient in AutoCAD 2007 (or later) with emphasis on 3D modelling.

·Experience in the preparation and checking of P&IDs is also preferred.

·Candidates must have experience with mechanical design activities including overall design and layout of piping systems, selection and use of power piping components, pipe routing, and pipe support design.

·Proven experience with developing P&IDs, 3D models, orthographic and isometric piping drawings, and pipe support details is desired.

Responsibilities:

·Provide 3D piping/ equipment designs for retrofit and environmental projects for the client's non-nuclear fleet of generating facilities.

·Work with engineers and other designers of various disciplines to ensure safe, timely, efficient design that complies with company policies and procedures as well as applicable codes and standards.
