Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Water Treatment

About the Role

We are hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Water Treatment for operating in the infrastructure and water sector. The role will support the safe and reliable operation of a large-scale water treatment/desalination facility, with a particular focus onmechanical maintenance of RO systems, pumps, valves, rotating equipment, and associated plant machinery.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience indesalination, water treatment, power generation, oil & gas, or other industrial environments, with experience troubleshooting and overhauling mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry outpreventive and corrective maintenanceon mechanical equipment.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaulpumps, motors, valves, gearboxes, compressors, and piping systems.

• Maintain RO plant equipment, including:

  • High-pressure pumps

  • Booster pumps

  • Pressure vessels

  • RO skids and membranes

  • Filters and strainers

  • Chemical dosing systems

  • Valves and actuators

  • Heat exchangers

  • Cranes and lifting equipment

• Perform equipmentalignment, lubrication, and condition monitoring.

• Carry out bearing andmechanical seal replacementand equipment overhauling.

• Work with centrifugal, vertical, submersible, and dosing pumps.

• Assemble and disassembleplug, butterfly, and check valves.

• Participate in equipmentcommissioning, startup, and shutdownactivities.

• Assist withroot-cause analysisof mechanical equipment failures.

• Perform pump vibration monitoring and support predictive maintenance activities.

• Assemble and disassemble compressors and motors.

• Work withPVDF and CPVC piping/materials.

• Complete maintenance reports and updateCMMS/work orders.

• Read and interpretmechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals.

• Coordinate with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams.

• Followpermit-to-work procedures and HSE requirements.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and plant call-outs when required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate inMechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field.

• 3–5+ years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience.

• Experience indesalination, water treatment, power plants, oil & gas, or industrial facilities.

• Strong hands-on experience withrotating and static equipment.

• Experience withpumps, valves, compressors, motors, bearings, and mechanical seals.

• Ability to readP&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.

• Experience usingCMMS / computerized maintenance management systems.

• Knowledge of equipment alignment, includinglaser alignment and dial gauge measurements.

• Strong troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance skills.

• RO/desalination experience is preferred.
