Medical Office - Internal Medicine

A busy Internal Medicine Practice is searching for a compassionate and motivated employee to join our team.

Core Requirements:

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Experience in working in a clinical environment [+1 years].
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare rules and regulations (e.g HIPPA, OSHA)
  • Highschool diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of accredited medical assisting program or its equivalent.
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs Microsoft: Outlook, and Word
  • Knowledge of utlitizing electronic medical records (EMR). Typing/scribing experience is a plus

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Check-in and check-out of patients.
  • Create and manage patient charts, demographics in EMR.
  • Opening and closing of exam rooms as well as managing their supplies and cleanliness.
  • Inventory and Supply ordering
  • Perform vitals, height, weight, and medical history.
  • Phlebotomy , EKG, Spirometry testing, ABI exam, etc (training will be provided if needed)
  • Verifying insurance and insurance benefits.
  • Input selected ICD codes for billing purposes
  • Confirm eligibility for patient benefits.
  • Process chart release.
  • Obtain authorizations.
  • Answering phones and emails. Sorting mail, Scanning documents into EHR
  • Calling patients to verify appointments or to provide medical care instructions.
  • Patient triage.
  • Assisting providers with clinical or administrative duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours are roughly Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8:00am-5pm, 2 Wed per month there are late night where the last apt is about 7:00pm. The office is closed on Thursdays and weekends.

Qualifications

At least one year of Medical Assistant Experience preferred. Internal Medicine or Family Practice experience is not required but is a plus. Spanish is not required but is a plus.

Candidate must be multi-task orientated, friendly and professional. Communication and people skills are a must.
