Mental Health Trainer

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.  

As a leader in healthcare education, we have been providing high-quality training and support services through EmployEase our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in Melbourne's eastern region for 25+ years!

Must hold the qualification of Certificate IV in Training & Assessment to successfully apply, as this is a mandatory requirement of the RTO to deliver the course.

We currently have a unique opportunity for a Mental Health trainer to train and upskill cohorts of students in either the Diploma of Mental Health, and if you have experience in Certificate IV in Mental Health this is also highly sought after. Courses ranging from 9 months for the Cert IV in Mental Health and 12 months for the Diploma of Mental Health. Both have unique blended online learning approaches which ensures a flexible and engaging learning environment with the first cohort commencing soon.

Join our passionate HCA Education team to deliver training in a growing and critical sector—mental health—supporting the development of the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our trainers are provided with structured session plans and resources prior to training sessions. Assessment responsibilities include both practical observation and marking of theoretical tests, as well as other responsibilities such as:

  • Applying a variety of teaching methods (including workplace mentoring, where appropriate)
  • Preparing and maintaining teaching and learning resources
  • Marking assessments and providing feedback to students (within required timeframes and using an LMS)
  • Participating in Validation and/or Moderation Sessions
  • Identifying and reporting student learning difficulties
  • Supporting students with additional learning needs
  • Assisting with the review of teaching programs

This is a casual role, approx. 10-15 hours per week.

As a Trainer with a Diploma or post-graduate qualifications in Mental Health, you are passionate about adult learning and developing future talent in healthcare. As mentioned you will need to have completed a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. Available to train in the afternoon and evening with classes running across selected weekdays (classes 5:30pm–9:30pm, role plays 3:00pm–9:00pm)
