Position Summary

ABFS is seeking a skilled Mobile Handyman / Maintenance Technician to travel between client sites throughout the DMV area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs and can independently complete maintenance tickets.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites throughout the DMV area to complete maintenance work orders.
• Perform carpentry repairs, including drywall patching, door repairs, shelving, and hardware installation.
• Complete painting, touch-ups, surface preparation, and finishing.
• Perform plumbing repairs, including leaks, faucets, toilets, and fixtures.
• Complete basic electrical repairs within applicable licensing and safety requirements.
• Document completed work and materials through the company's ticketing system.
• Communicate professionally with clients and escalate repairs requiring specialized contractors.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years of handyman, commercial maintenance, or skilled trades experience.
• Strong hands-on skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and basic electrical work.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel between multiple client locations throughout the DMV area.
• Ability to work independently, use hand and power tools safely, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commercial building maintenance experience preferred.
