Mortgage Underwriter (DE/LAPP/SAR)- Remote (Texas)

Ready to take your MORTGAGE UNDERWRITING career to the next level? Our client, a Texas based, privately owned Commercial Bank, is expanding their Retail Residential Mortgage lending operations and their team. We are looking for a Senior Underwriter who has deep Underwriting expertise with certifications (DE/LAPP/SAR).

Your Impact

As a Senior Underwriter, you won't just be checking boxes. You will:

• Decision a Full Spectrum: Handle FHA, VA, Conforming, USDA, and Bond/Grant programs.

• Be a Subject Matter Expert: Act as a go-to resource for loan officers and processors to help structure complex files.

• Drive Quality: Ensure minimal turn times while maintaining "zero-defect" quality standards.

Requirements

• FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) with an active CHUMS ID

• VA Supervised Automatic Review (SAR) with an active VA SAR ID

• Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) certification

• 5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting experience

• Expertise in AUS systems (DU/LPA)

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while remaining a collaborative team player
