Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring MTS Software Development Eng. to Architect and drive the AI Software Stack by establishing best practices and optimizing performance from the lowest-level GPU kernels to large-scale distributed systems, shaping the foundational software for AMD hardware. Leverage cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent-based technologies to accelerate the development and performance enhancement of the AMD ROCm ecosystem, ensuring it remains at the forefront of AI innovation. Directly accelerate cutting-edge applications such as foundation models (LLMs) and autonomous AI agents, ensuring AMD is the platform of choice for the most demanding workloads. Contribute to the entire co-design lifecycle, from influencing future GPU architectures to developing groundbreaking software for new accelerators and collaborating with the broader AI community.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:

• Software development experience in performance-critical environments;
• Deep learning model architectures, such as natural language processing models, recommendation models, computer vision models, or other modern AI systems;
• Optimizing the inference pipelines of deep learning models;
• Modern C++ and Object-Oriented Design;
• GPU programming (HIP or CUDA) and optimizing deep learning kernels and operators; and
• GPU architecture, memory hierarchy, and GPU profiling or performance analysis tools to diagnose and resolve complex bottlenecks in distributed, multi-GPU systems.
