How will you contribute to our success?

• Places safety at the forefront of all CSL activities, concepts, repairs, and operational decisions
• Promote CSL environmental and sustainability goals in all projects and concepts
• Bring innovation, energy efficiency and clean operations to every concept and project
• Conduct vessel structural inspections, condition assessments, and degradation reviews across the fleet
• Review steel wastage reports, thickness gauging, NDT results, damage investigations, and repair recommendations
• Develop steel renewal, structural repair, coating, corrosion-control, and vessel modification specifications
• Monitor fleet structural integrity, corrosion trends, recurring failures, and vessel condition data
• Coordinate thickness gauging, NDT inspections, condition surveys, Class surveys, and regulatory inspections
• Discuss and align repair scopes, life extension programs, and structural decisions with Class and technical stakeholders

The skills you will bring to our team

• Extensive knowledge of vessel structural integrity, steel wastage, corrosion, coatings, NDT, surveys, and repair practices, especially self-unloading vessels would be preferable
• Strong project planning, budgeting, contractor management, and schedule control skills
• Sound engineering judgement with practical cost-benefit and risk-based decision making
• Proactive communicator with focus on building and maintaining relationships internally and externally
• Able to work in a collaborative, integrated manner with external and internal groups
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate fleet technical records and repair histories
• Able to use and interpret output from industry standard computer design tools such as ACAD, FEA, CFD, etc.

Knowledge of English is necessary for this role due to daily interactions with colleagues, clients and partners who are mainly located outside Quebec and in order to understand regulatory requirements and technical instructions and specifications.
