.NET Developer

We’re looking for a .NET Developer to join our engineering team, building and evolving a SaaS platform used by many business customers operating 24/7.

The role is primarily backend focused, working with C# and .NET to build APIs and services that need to be reliable, secure and performant. You’ll be involved throughout the software lifecycle - from understanding a problem and designing a solution through development, testing, deployment and production support.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining backend services and APIs using .NET.

• Working on a multi-tenant SaaS platform with demanding availability and performance requirements.

• Writing automated tests and helping us continue our move towards shift-left quality.

• Troubleshooting production issues using logs, metrics and traces, and helping prevent recurrence.

• Reviewing code and contributing to technical discussions.

• Improving the code and systems you work with, including automating repetitive tasks where appropriate.

• Considering security, reliability and operational impact as part of normal development.

• Participating in the engineering on-call rota.
  
  

What we’re looking for

You’ll have good commercial experience with C# and modern .NET and be comfortable taking ownership of meaningful pieces of work.

We’d expect experience with:

• C# and .NET

• HTTP APIs and backend services

• Automated testing

• SQL

• Cloud-hosted applications

• CI/CD

• Diagnosing anomalies in production systems

We’re more interested in strong engineering fundamentals and good judgement than experience with every technology we use.

• C# and .NET, moving towards .NET 10

• Microsoft Azure

• AKS, virtual machines and functions

• SQL Server and Cosmos DB

• Azure DevOps pipelines

• Datadog

• Automated and contract testing

Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, Cosmos DB or modern JavaScript frameworks is useful but not essential.

We value people who take ownership beyond simply completing a ticket.

That means thinking about how software will behave in production, how it can be tested and deployed safely, how we’ll know whether it is working correctly, and how the system can be improved over time.

AI-assisted development is supported but not required. We are currently exploring its use within development and pull-request workflows, with developers remaining responsible for the code they produce.
