Network Engineer

Responsibilities

Within the Network Operations department, you will be part of the Production Services organization, responsible for the shared IT infrastructure that supports customer-facing services. You will work within an international network team, collaborating closely with colleagues across several European countries.The team is responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and operating network infrastructure, with a strong focus on service quality and customer orientation.The environment is complex and multidisciplinary, primarily built around Cisco switches and routers (IOS and NX-OS), Check Point firewalls, and F5 load balancers. Knowledge of at least one of these technologies is required. The team owns the entire network infrastructure, including the implementation of network security components.

Responsibilities

• Operate, administer and improve enterprise network and security infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, firewall and load balancing issues.
• Support incident management and perform Root Cause Analysis for major incidents.
• Prepare, test and deploy network changes, including implementation and rollback plans.
• Support Low-Level Design activities and network infrastructure improvements.
• Work with infrastructure, security, application and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with vendors and external suppliers when needed.
• Support compliance with architecture standards, security policies and operational processes.
• Participate in out-of-office-hours changes and standby rotation when required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing and switching, including VXLAN, subnetting, IP networking, DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VRF, NAT, and routing/switching protocols.
• Strong experience with Cisco network technologies, including Cisco switches, routers, IOS, and NX-OS.
• Strong experience with data-center networking, including Cisco Nexus and spine-leaf architectures.
• Strong understanding of network security, firewall policies, segmentation, and secure network design.
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls, preferably Check Point.
• Scripting or automation experience, such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet or Terraform.
• Experience working in multi-site, multi-data-center, or international enterprise environments.
• Experience with standards, compliance, and operational processes, including ITIL-style incident/change/problem management and security/regulatory requirements.
• Experience with monitoring, KPIs, and operational reporting, using network monitoring, syslog, SNMP, NetFlow, or similar tools.
• Experience with proxy technologies, preferably HAProxy.
• Good communication skills in English.

Desired skills

• Experience with F5 BIG-IP or similar load balancing technologies.
• Linux knowledge.
• Cloud or hybrid infrastructure awareness.
