NEWBORN CARE SPECIALISTS

Overview

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA A lovely first-time family in Mountain View, California is seeking an experienced Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to provide overnight support following the arrival of their first baby, due January 2nd. The family is ideally looking for evening/overnight care for approximately 3–4 months, with a schedule such as 6:00 PM–6:00 AM or 9:00 PM–9:00 AM, and is open to discussing the exact hours and frequency with the right candidate. Mom plans to breastfeed, so they would especially love an NCS who is highly knowledgeable in breastfeeding and lactation support and can confidently guide and encourage a first-time mother throughout the newborn stage.

The ideal candidate will be warm, calm, highly experienced, and comfortable helping new parents establish healthy feeding and sleep routines, eventually working toward an age-appropriate schedule and sleep training when developmentally appropriate. The baby will have a separate nursery equipped with both a SNOO and traditional crib, and the maternal grandmother will be present to assist during the daytime, making the NCS's primary focus evening and overnight newborn care and parent support.

The family is seeking someone who can come and go each shift rather than live in and strongly prefers LOCAL BAY AREA CANDIDATES with extensive newborn experience, excellent references, and a collaborative, educational approach with first-time parents. Pay is OPEN, based on experience!

Qualifications

• BA/BS COLLEGE DEGREE | AA IN RELATED FIELD OF STUDY | OR A MINIMUM OF 5+ YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL NANNY EXPERIENCE
• UP TO DATE FIRST-AID & CPR CERTIFICATION (WILLINGNESS TO RENEW AS NEEDED)
• THE ABILITY TO MAKE A ONE-YEAR COMMITMENT UNLESS APPLYING FOR A TEMPORARY POSITION
• A PASSION FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN
• 5+ YEARS OF CHILDCARE EXPERIENCE IN ANY FIELD
• EXCELLENT WORK AND PERSONAL REFERENCES

• U.S. DRIVER’S LICENSE (THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO NYC RESIDENTS)
